1. The Clematis Room
This ground floor room has a beautiful deck under the shade of an Eastern persimmon tree, which bears its fruit in October. The room is on the north side of the building, which helps to keep it cooler in the summer. The wooden fence, which provides screening, is adorned with clematis vines that produce abundant colorful blossoms in the spring. There is a brand new full-sized refrigerator in the fully equipped kitchen.
This room have a private outdoor entrance, queen sized beds, television, cooling and heating, their own bathrooms and kitchen. Guests are invited to graze on the fruit we have in the garden, and to harvest herbs and vegetables to cook in your own rooms. All kitchens are fully equipped with a microwave, an induction stovetop, a slow cooker, a toaster, blender, coffee maker, pots and pans, cooking utensils, cups, glasses, plates, and utensils. Coffee, salt, pepper, sugar, teabags, half and half, and instant coffee are supplied. All rooms have a welcome set of fruit bars and chocolates. All linens and bedding are provided, and well as two to three sets of towels. Clocks, clock radios, personal safes, cleaning supplies, and night stands are furnished in each room. Bathrooms have first aid supplies, shampoo, body soap, and liquid hand soap. All rooms feel homey and cozy.
2. The Persimmon Room
This upstairs room has a view of the farm and is shaded by the Eastern persimmon tree. The kitchen is a bit smaller, but is complete and well furnished. There is extra room in the living area where a cot can be placed. A cot and extra bedding are stored in the room’s closet and available as desired. Many people like the extra space between the bed and dining area.

3. The Raspberry Room
This s cozy ground floor room is located off the parking area and more ideal for those who want to be close to their car, The deck is surrounded by raspberry canes, flowers, and some blackberries. There is a nice set of patio furniture to relax outside. This is one of our smaller rooms. The kitchen is fully furnished. There is a grab bar in the bathroom.

4. The Blackberry Room
This room is the closest to our farm’s berry patches including strawberries, raspberries, blackberries, and blueberries in season. Recently decorated, the room has a larger bathtub and room for a cot, which is available in the closet with bedding. The room also has high ceilings

5. The Creekside Room
This is a cabin located on the bank of Claverack Creek and has beautiful views. It was designed to take advantage of outdoor living, so the private outdoor deck is very large while the indoor living space is more compact and cozy. The deck has your private hot tub, patio furniture, and a barbecue. The cabin has a walk in shower and fully furnished kitchen.

6. The Poolside Room
This spacious cabin is located next to the pool area and has a sauna and hot tub adjacent. (Pool is to be completed this year.) The cabin is very spacious with views of the creek and nursery. The bathroom has two side-by-side sinks and a large tub and shower. The living area has a comfortable love-seat couch and coffee table. There is room to locate a cot in the room so a cot and bedding are provided in the closet.

7. The Mulberry Room
This large ground-floor room has a view of a large flower bed, the creek, the nursery, and an espaliered mulberry tree. The open-beam ceiling and antique living room light lend a European look. Cabinet counters are made of beautiful laminates butcher-block. There is a large bathroom, and the bedroom is a separate room. Television is available in the living area and bedroom, and there is a love-seat couch and coffee table for your enjoyment. A furnished brick patio area is attached. A cot can fit in this room and is available in the closet with bedding.

8. The Riverview Room
This is the most elegant of the rooms we have available. It has a beautiful open wooden ceiling with lots of window space. Cabinets are finished with butcher-block counters and there is an outdoor deck overlooking the creek. A love-seat couch and coffee table add a luxurious touch to this room. The bedroom and living area are open to each other with no wall. The lighting there is unique and adds a special touch. The bedroom has large sliding-glass doors that lead to the deck. A cot can fit in this room and is provided in the closet with bedding.

About Us
Micosta Leisure Inn is nestled among towering maple and oak trees along the bank of the Claverack Creek. The owner, Steven McKay, found this piece of property during the winter of 20—after having lived in an apartment in Hudson and completing a year of employment with Cornell Cooperative Extension for a year. Having worked in agriculture all his life with a major in horticulture, bee biology, and international agriculture, and the award of top agriscience teacher in 1986, he was looking for a place that is beautiful and suitable for farming and business. After purchasing the 110 year-old farmhouse and property, building improvements began (new windows and heating system) and a fruit variety trial was planted for Cornell Cooperative Extension. Recommendations for improved fruit varieties and uncommon fruit plans for the region resulted. Also a processing center was organized to develop innovative processed products using the fruits being grown. After retiring in 2012, Steven developed small-scale commercial plantings of promising varieties and a line of products made from the produce. The concept of an inn evolved as an apartment got remodeled and space was left for a second room upstairs. As the second room was finished the inn opened in 2019. The first visitors enjoyed the ambiance, farming, landscaping, and site on the river. It was a success, more rooms were needed, and expansion has taken place to bring us to now have eight rooms with three hot tubs, a sauna, 2 gazebos, and soon a swimming pool.
